Well personally water was not cut for me after summer and even when it was out it was just around 2h or so and power not much off a problem shot cuts like 15to20 min but in general yes country is not in a good position

i can’t speak for everyone, but i haven’t experienced water being cut off in the past two months. Also the last electricity outrage was more than three weeks ago.

Personally I haven't experienced even a single water outage in years. I live in a metropolitan which is always less impacted by these situations.


However I've heard from people who live in smaller cities that there are rolling water outages in summer.


Water situation is not good but media always tries to portray the situation worse than it actually is.


I'd say the situation is serious but not because day to day life was already impacted in a meaningful way. It's serious cause there is no time to lose anymore and we gotta do something about it right now otherwise it's gonna get pretty bad quickly.

Perhaps if Iran spent more money on its water infrastructure than sending money to Hamas and other groups it would not be in this position. Short sighted thinking and they do seem to care that much about their own people so don't invest for their benefit it would seem unless it was a risk to regime security. Well they missed a big one, making sure there is water, oops. Maybe they will now. Won't help short term though so they are going to have to spend a lot of money figuring a way to keep the water flowing and making the population unhappy with needed rationing. With enough money they can get water, it just won't be cheap water. Could have been avoided.

This is huge, it's amazing how Iran could pull off such a evacuation without a humantarian nightmare, also the risk of unrest against a already unpopular regime that is seen as losing the 12 day war, and cant put down unrest in the separtist regions.

Water wars are the wars of the future coming closer, just look at the growing crisis in the Horn of Africa between Sudan &amp; Egypt in side and Ethiopia over Ethiopia sovereign right to use the GERD and use their oviergn downstream water rights as they see fit or the controversey over India and Pakistan with India threats to cancel the Indus water treaty over Pakistani backed terrorism against India (with the Pakistani field marsha the first one in Pakistani history as a fundamentalist true believer and reciter of the entire quran, and embraces the islamists), and Cambodia techno canal project that Vietnam fears and the mekong delta states fearing chinese dams being built to downstream countries water supplies.

I wouldnt be surprised this water crisis causes:

- a new round of unrest against the regime as corruption, mismanagement, behind the scenes kick backs, cronyism and red tape caused this crisis

- a humantarian disaster compared to Gaza, Ethiopia internal conflicts, the yemeni crisis and Sudan internal conflict as the evacuation becomes a absolute mess, and the likes of Stampede, rioting, forced evacuations and other issues cause a mess.

- Iran exploiting the situation to for a shia revivalism and saying this is " punishment from God" and double down say this is a sign of the world unrest , it a sign of the return of the twelfth iman and a need to "return to the revolution, the concept of the islamic republic, and a return to God" and increase 12th iman fundamentalism last seen under the regime of Ahmadinejad reign. 

- I see Iran exploring this situation to blame the Deobandi Sunni Taliban ruled Afghanistan to say Afghanistan has failed to honor the 1973 water sharing agreement of the Helmand river and expand it shiite revolution abroad into Taliban Afghanistan to use and control the Helmend reiver to Iran intreasts and then start having water disputes with Pakistan.

A lot of this shit is solvable with proper conservation, water capture and perma-culture techniques. But it takes time, money and effort to do it on such a large scale. Imagine what a country rich in oil money could do if they didn't spend it all on weapons and supporting terrorism.

What a lot of people forget is the reason why there is so much flooding when it rains after a drought is that moist soil, counterintuitively, absorbs water faster than dry soil.  So any level of decent rain in the areas is going to trigger flooding and mudslides and won't likely retain as much water.

They've gone very hard in the last few decades boosting agriculture as a means of self sufficieny and export. 

Unfortunately things like almonds and pistachio need massive amounts of water. 

At some point they will have cut back on agriculture or go woth increasing rationing.

It’s legit bad. I’ve got family saying that there are legit talks of having rolling water blackouts. They already have rolling electricity blackouts. I also have an uncle who works for the government in water management who talks about this issue for the past few years every time I talk to him.

It’s mostly the farmers and people living in dehat being idiots and not conserving water and electricity.

The issue got worse, but it's not a new problem. And everybody pretends like it's an easy problem to solve, and Iran doesn't know what to do. The shear scale of the problem is much bigger than people understand.

The most insane thing is permaculture has long solved these issues, with proven designs for every climate and terrain yet very few countries have bothered to adopt them at scale.
